I think the fans are beginning to enjoy what we do

The win means Burnley have picked up 14 points this season but Birmingham are edging towards the bottom with only four points. When asked if he was frustrated by tonight's performance, Brum boss Lee Clark said: "Frustration is a feeling you have when you think you deserve to get something from a game.

"Probably the word I would use is disappointing because we got what we deserved. We didn't play well enough in every aspect of the game. When you lose games so quickly in each half it becomes a problem.

"It's by far and away our most disappointing performance of the season. I take the full responsibility. I'm the leader of the group and I take responsibility for it. We go and push ourselves forward, dust ourselves down and get ready for Saturday."

Sean Dyche saw Danny Ings score two goals with Scott Arfield also on the scoresheet and said: "It was a very enjoyable night at the office. Overall we did more than enough and arguably could have had more.

"I actually thought we started very well, then came away from our performance levels for 20 to 25 minutes. I told them at half time I wasn't happy because the lads have set high performance levels for themselves and I didn't think we were there.

"But in the second half we started like a house on fire and maintained that to stay in control for the second half."

Dyche heaped praise on his midfield pair of Dean Marney and David Jones. He added: "Danny is rightly getting plaudits and Sam should get them too because he has been immense at times because he does some of the things that managers, coaches and players respect.

"But I also thought our two central midfielders were really outstanding tonight and I've told them that. When the flow of the game wasn't there in the first half they dug in and got the ugly stuff done and I thought they were just tremendous.

"There will be plaudits for a lot of individuals and we could go on, but the whole group is performing and there's still more that we want to demand from the players."

Dyche, having seen the Clarets win a fourth game in seven league games, concluded: "I believe in positivity and working in a positive manner. That is my mindset and what I believe in. Of course, it doesn't guarantee you a result, but it does guarantee you a platform to get results.

"That is what we are doing and every time we look down that tunnel we see a team that is hungry and ready to go. I think the fans are beginning to enjoy what we do and the team is showing good signs of development, so long may it continue."
