Hopefully now we can continue the momentum we've got

Jones watched us recently, in the 2-1 win against Portsmouth, and was impressed. He said: "Burnley have still got the squad which came out of the Premiership. I watched them at Portsmouth not long back. They won 2-1 there and they have some very good players.

"Saying that, so do we. We go into the game in a positive frame of mind. We can't worry about anybody else or what they are doing, but only focus on what we are doing.

"We have a chance of winning this league along with everybody else. QPR are holding the mantle now and we have to try to snatch that. Forest are trying, Norwich too and Leicester are on a run. Burnley will fancy it too.

"Everybody is hitting winning streaks at the moment. We want our rivals to have a losing streak. but you've got to aim for the top.

"I remember when I was at Southampton in the Premiership and I was told finishing fourth from bottom would be fantastic. I wanted to be fourth from the top and they thought I was mad.

"We have a dream, a goal, an ambition here and we have never given up on that. We've had hard knocks and disappointments, but we have come back stronger as a group of people. That's why we are where we are right now."

Jones also admitted that we face a second successive game on a bad pitch after winning at Watford on something of a cabbage patch. Like Watford it's a shared ground and is used by the Blues Rugby club.

Jones warned: "We know it's not in the best condition at the moment. But the groundsmen are doing their best. They haven't got a magic wand so we've got to get on with it."

It was Jason Tindall on duty again ahead of tonight's game and whilst looking forward to the game he admitted it was going to be a tough one for us.

"When you look at the squad they've got and the players they've got available to them I can't see why they won't be there or thereabouts," he said. "They are a good side with a good manager and it's going to be a really tough game.

"But we have got to take a lot of belief and confidence from the way we've been performing recently, and if we can go there and continue the way we've been playing then we have proved time and time again we are more than a match for anyone in this division.

"The lads have been excellent since we've come in. They have trained very well and performed very well. Everything has been positive and hopefully now we can continue the momentum we've got and go on a decent run and who knows where that can take us."

Tindall continued: "You're looking at Watford away and Cardiff away as two very tough games. We've managed to go to Watford and get a great result and we will be looking to do the same again tonight against a very good Cardiff side.

"It has been a tough run of fixtures but it's something we are looking forward to because we are in a good run of form at the moment. It was important that we got back-to-back wins and got that monkey off our back and we look forward to what's going to be a good game tonight.

"We want to win every game. That's why we set up the way we did against Watford. We went out there to win the game. Thankfully we did that and we will be going to Cardiff to try and do the same thing.

"It's a tough place to go but we will go there and fight and hopefully get a positive result. If we can be consistent and continue the good run of form we have shown you just never know where it can take you."
