Steven Fletcher - Man of the Match
After watching the Clarets for 27 years this is the first time I have been able to follow my team in the top tier of English football and how great it has been so far. Ok we have yet to score a goal or pick up a point away from Turf Moor but how many other teams will go to Stoke, Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham and come away with points?

Alan Hansen last week reminded everyone of what is required, 'home form is key to staying in the Premier'. Points will be picked up away from home this season (hopefully in our next match), and points will be lost at home, but the whole experience of watching our team play weekly against these top teams is what we have dreamt of for so long and I certainly have not been disappointed.

After last weekend's fantastic result against Sunderland, a weekend away in London was certainly something to look forward to and the traffic jams, underground maintenance and result did not spoil it too much.

Onto the match and a Burnley team as expected with Gudjonsson replacing McCann and Nugent in for Paterson.

Burnley started the match well and had the first real opening but Fletcher saw his shot from the edge of the area take a deflection for a corner.

Tottenham soon came into the game though and Jensen had to be alert to an effort from Keane following a great through ball from Jenas.

On 18 minutes Spurs took the lead. Defoe was clearly brought down in the area by Bikey and Keane made no mistake slotting the following penalty to Jensen's left hand side.

Fletcher looked to have given Burnley an equaliser shortly after but was ruled offside. Given the view at the ground it was impossible to tell but after seeing the replay on TV, Fletcher can count himself unlucky not to have bagged his first Premier League goal.

Following a great chance for Defoe, Jenas made it 2-0 to the home side on 33 minutes with a shot deflecting off Jordan and giving Jensen no chance.

Two more chances came to Defoe and one to Nugent before the first half finished at 2-0.

Yet again Burnley started the half well. Blake having a decent effort saved by Cudicini following a deflected cross from Mears.

Burnley nearly clawed their way back into the match when a Mears free-kick was fumbled by Cudicini but Blake's effort hit the post and was cleared to safety.

After some good pressure from Burnley, Tottenham made sure of the victory when Keane grabbed his second slotting a cross from Lennon past Jensen for 3-0.

3-0 soon became 4 when Keane grabbed his hat-trick and 4 became 5 on 87 minutes when Keane again grabbed his fourth goal of the game sliding the ball under Jensen following a Crouch flick-on.

So the result looks bad but 5-0 probably did flatter the home side. My man of the match went to Steven Fletcher who worked hard all game and deserved his first Premier League goal.

On a final note my wife went to watch Grease in Piccadilly. When I told her the full-time score she said' I bet you wish you were at Grease instead'. 'Not a chance' I replied. Even in defeat the experience of watching Burnley in the Premier is great and long may it continue.
