Kettle - send him to the Tower not the Palace

Last updated : 30 September 2007 By Tony Yates

'Twas a sunny day up North for once
So they send us a ref who is a right ponce
For just about every decision he made
Was totally wrong - he should be slayed.

We were knocked out of the cup in the week
So a different team on paper looked so sleek
Though we had a left winger who can't cross with his left
And a ball winner in midfield we are bereft.

Before the game we had pie and peas
A chat with some mates and catch upon the sleaze
Met a guy who bought a charger for twenty pounds
Good value? Don't think so he's been had it sounds.

Then onto the Turf and into my seat
This Palace side were there to be beat
They brought with them 88 fans
We've got ten times as many with life long bans.

The ball was in the air a lot
Never on the floor so hardly a shot
Andy Gray should have stayed at home
He just stood up front like a garden gnome.

Robbie huffed and Laffers puffed
But he's not a left winger as Palace sussed
We needed Unsworth in the middle
To pass the ball and play the fiddle

Both teams scored and honours even
A fair result - all even Steven
They were big and won all in the air
But THAT referee didn't make it fair.

The most consistent ref we have had for a while
All decisions wrong - should be sent on trial
What reason you ask? I'll tell you why
Crimes against football - his own rules he'll apply.

Let's march on against Ipswich on Tuesday night
Get an early goal and give them a fright
Then onto Cardiff next Saturday
An easy 3 - 0 win it's like making hay.
