Double save from Jensen ensures point

Brian Jensen - doube save hero
Doncaster themselves headed into this game after a good win over Ipswich Town last weekend, so the home side would have to make sure they weren't to be frustrated by the bottom of the league. It was however, to turn out to be a frustrating afternoon for the hosts.

Good work from Chambers down the right hand side led to Price having a chance, the best opening effort of the game, testing Clarets keeper Jensen - who was to yet again turn out to be the hero once more.

In the tenth minute, Burnley won a free kick, and Blake forced a decent save from veteran goalkeeper Sullivan. The free kick that was won from a foul by Mills was to be the turning point of the afternoon, the Doncaster player going unpunished for his foul on Chris Eagles.

A minute later, an incident involving Steve Thompson earned him his first yellow of the afternoon.

Soon after, it was Jensen who was forced into making another save, tipping over a long-range shot from Stock.

However, the Clarets were soon down to ten men, Steven Thompson clashing with the earlier-unpunished Mills - a player that Burnley manager Owen Coyle thought should not still be on the pitch. So off went Thompson, and Burnley faced a tough remaining hour's football against a battling Doncaster side.

In the second half, Coyle reshuffled and Chris Eagles was pushed up front, operating as a lone striker - and as is usually the case, the ten-man side continued to create some of the better opportunities. Burnley's best chance was from Chris McCann who came close from an Alan Mahon free kick.

As in the first half, Jensen pulled off another good save from yet another long distance Stock effort. Not long after, Heffernan was bearing down on the Burnley goal, but put his shot high and wide of the target.

Chris Eagles had a half-chance late on for Burnley, but the angle was against him and his shot went wide.

As the clock ticked down, Doncaster continued to push forwards looking for a goal that would win them the game, but as it has been in recent weeks, Jensen turned out to be the hero again, making a fantastic double save to deny the visitors.

A healthy 12,173 attended the game and next up for Burnsley, is a trip to Yorkshire to take on the reds of Barnley. Or something like that...
