Brian Laws' Claret and Blue Army

Steven Fletcher - scored a good goal
I got into Burnley town centre for 3pm for pre match beers and banter. I was really looking forward to this no matter how bad we have been playing. I honestly felt we would get something but how wrong could I be, as come 5.40pm the game was over.

It was shocking stuff this. Laws started with current fans favourites Eagles and Blake in what was a very attack minded team. City came with their multimillionaires and a very healthy away following.

And so to kick off. From the off Johnson got in and hit the post. I could sense this was going to be one of those Burnley games and I was unfortunately proved right within seven devastating, shocking defending, calamity goalkeeping minutes. We were 3-0 down - GAME OVER.

The rest of the half we were chasing shadows and some fans left when the 3rd goal went in.

So to halftime and it was 5-0. It could, and should, have been 10. I was in a state of shock.

Second half I came back to my seat unlike a lot of the fans around me, and we did play a lot better. But let's be honest here, the City players would have totally took their wealthy feet off the pedals.

We created chances, but the pitch and weather were horrible and we were shouting for the game to be called off, which was never going to happen.

There was still time for a City 6th from a corner, and there was time for a consolation goal for Fletcher, a good finish from a good player. I celebrated this goal with the handful of fans that had stayed.

MAN OF THE MATCH - I can't choose one, I really can't. This was a game of men against boys.

So came the full time whistle and here came the boos. Make no mistake about it we were totally outclassed, but I ask this. Where was the fight and the passion?

It just wasn't there. We had no answers. A lot has been said about Coyle leaving for Horwich, but it's obvious to me these players played for Owen Coyle, and not my football club.

Laws, no matter what Kilby has to say, was not FIRST CHOICE. I don't blame him or Kilby for what's happening; he's not going to turn down a Premier League job.

I will always get behind whoever manages my football team, but I somehow don't think 19,000 other Burnley fans will. I don't recall there being one single chant of BRIAN LAWS CLARET AND BLUE ARMY all game yesterday and that Mr Kilby says it all.

All in all, a very bad day at the office. We have all lived the dream, ok it's been more like a nightmare at times recently, but I personally have loved every minute of our first season in the Premier League.

I think we have to admit that losing to teams like Portsmouth and Wolves at home and one point away all season is the reason why we will probably be back to playing the likes of Watford and Scunthorpe next year.

All we can do is enjoy watching the likes of Tevez and Adebayor, and up next at Turf, Torres and Gerrard.

Come on Burnley fans lets enjoy it. I've renewed my season ticket because I honestly believe we will be back.
