Youths out of action this weekend

Although we have played three league games this season we are still to play a team from our league and this fourth game will again pit us against a team from Conference Group B although we are in Group A.

It's probably as well we don't play this week, the lads will still probably be trying to get dry following last Saturday's Gawthorpe drenching but it wasn't just confined to us, the game between Wigan and Macclesfield was certainly played in similar conditions where the referee struggled as he got a 'lashing' from the rain.

The current confused situation shows Blackpool leading Group A, having won away against Group B Shrewsbury, whilst Stockport, winners over Bury from Group A, currently lead Group B.

Tranmere's win against us was the biggest of the week, a week when the free scoring Oldham came unstuck, not only did they find the net just once but they were beaten by Wrexham.

Last Saturday's results

Burnley 0 Tranmere 4
Bury 0 Stockport 2
Chester 2 Rochdale 0
Port Vale 1 Accrington 0
Shrewsbury 1 Blackpool 4
Walsall 2 Carlisle 1
Wigan 1 Macclesfield 0
Wrexham 2 Oldham 1

This Saturday's fixtures

Blackpool v Walsall
