| Luke Daly starts in midfield |
We've done well in this competition in recent years, twice reaching the final before losing to Preston at Deepdale.
Last season, however, we went out at the first hurdle, losing 2-0 at home against Rochdale. That game too was played at Gawthorpe but traditionally these games were always played at Turf Moor and only moved to the training ground in the dark days of the poor playing surface at the Turf.
Terry Pashley will have to go into the game without both Cameron Dummigan and Jamie Frost. Dummigan, a second year scholar, and first year Frost are both involved with the development squad and are likely to be in the team for the friendly against Wednesday.
Pash has made three changes to the team that started the 4-0 win against Preston on Saturday. The policy of rotating the goalkeepers continues so Conor Mitchell starts today with Callum Jakovlevs on the bench.
The other changes are in midfield. On Saturday Nathan Lowe and Brandon Wilson started with Luke Daly and Kevin Ly replacing them as during the second half; Daly and Ly start today with both Lowe and Wilson among the four named substitutes.
