Youths in action at Slyne-with-Hest FC

As we reported last week, our home game against Shrewsbury on 6th September has also been moved to the same venue but, with Padiham at home to Spennymoor Town we haven't been able to secure a venue for the home game against Morecambe tomorrow morning.

For this reason the fixtures against Morecambe have been switched. We'll now play them at home in February and tomorrow we'll travel to play the away game which will kick off at the scheduled time of 11 a.m. at the home of West Lancashire League club Slyne-with Hest.

For anyone wishing to travel to the game, the ground can be found opposite the caravan park on Bottomdale Road, Slyne, Lancaster, LA2 6BG.

The Youth Alliance League will be enjoying its third week this weekend but, due to technical difficulties at the Football League, it hasn't been an easy task obtaining the results and fixtures to date.

However, I've now been able to obtain them all and, so far, only two clubs have a 100 per cent record. One, of course, is us with that win last week, and the other is Preston who currently sit on top of the league having played two and won two.

North End won 2-0 against Accrington on the opening day, another game played at Padiham, and a week ago today they beat Port Vale 3-0 to secure that early top spot.

They sit two points ahead of five clubs who have won one and drawn one game whilst at the other end of the table there are still five clubs looking for their first point, although for one of them, Oldham, they are still to play with them having gone on the pre-season trip to Holland, but will be in action tomorrow.

Our opponents in tomorrow's games are one of those five clubs. Morecambe got off to a losing start with a 4-2 home defeat against Bury and last week were beaten 3-0 by Carlisle in another game where the venue was switched to give Morecambe a home game.

A late rally saw them climb off the bottom and above Wrexham just before the end of last season and they'll be looking to get their first points on the board tomorrow whilst the young Clarets will be hoping to retain their winning start under new captain Waqas Azam.

Below are all the results from the games played so far, this weekend's fixtures, our goalscorers (just two to date from the one game) and the current league table.
