We're still third in the table, courtesy of a surprise defeat against last week's league leaders Bury, but we are behind second place Oldham only by a goal and are just a point behind new leaders Wrexham.
Both of them won on Saturday, Wrexham overcoming Port Vale at home, beating them 2-0 whilst Oldham also had a home win, theirs a 2-1 victory over Carlisle. The shock result of the day was that which saw leaders Bury lost 3-2 at home to Accrington Stanley who had previously been bottom.
Not only was it Accrington's first win of the season but their first win in the Youth Alliance League since joining at the beginning of last season. They didn't win a single point in 2006/07 but this win has taken their points total to four and they are now four places from the bottom.
Rochdale have dropped into bottom place after they were beaten at home to Blackpool and it is Rochdale who we play next, this coming Saturday morning at Gawthorpe.
