Youths fall to second defeat

Last updated : 21 August 2006 By Tony Scholes
Our two defeats have come against Port Vale, and now Walsall, but neither of those two clubs are in the same league as us although the points won and lost are included in the respective league tables.

The North West Conference of the Youth Alliance League has now been split into two leagues, Group A and Group B. The Clarets are in Group A whilst their two opponents so far are both featuring in Group A, as do our next opponents Tranmere Rovers.

For Walsall, it was a second successive win, and both Stockport and Oldham can match that. It is probably no surprise either that Oldham are already the leading scorers in the league with seven goals from two games.

Burnley will be hoping to get off the mark at Gawthorpe in just under two weeks time when we take on Tranmere, and will want to get amongst the goals with just a Jay Rodriguez penalty from the first two games.

Below are last Saturday's results, followed by the next fixtures which are a week on Saturday.

Blackpool 1 Wrexham 1
