Youths back to winning ways in the league

Kyle Lafferty - two goals
After winning our first nine league games of the season we had collected just one point from the last two games, losing at Carlisle and drawing with Stockport, but we were very much back in the groove today with a convincing 5-2 win against the Saddlers.

Cayne Hanley scored twice in the midweek win at Hull and he hit another brace today, as did Kyle Lafferty, whilst a Walsall defender put through his own goal to complete the scoring.

It is a Christmas break for the lads now who will be back in action on 7th January next year when we take on Shrewsbury in the Youth Alliance League at Gawthorpe.

Well done to all the lads in the youth team for their performances so far this season, twelve wins from fourteen league and cup games is a fantastic return. Let’s hope they can go on to win a trophy or two in the second half of the season.
