Youths back in action this week

Adam kay - 3 goals in 2 league games since returning from injury
The game should have been played this coming Saturday but because of Bury's involvement in a cup competition on the following Monday, they have requested the league game be brought forward a day and so it will kick off at 11:00 a.m. on Friday.

We remain next to bottom in the league but it wasn't possible for us to go bottom last Saturday although Accrington Stanley could have got within a point of us if they had beaten Rochdale. They were nowhere near that and suffered the heaviest defeat of the day, going down 8-1 to ‘Dale to remain pointless after seven games.

Neither of the top two in our league were able to find a victory, leaders Wigan took a 4-1 hammering against Preston whilst Oldham missed the chance to go top when they were held to a draw by Carlisle.

In Group B of the league, the top two met with Walsall beating Chester to go back above them on the top of the league.

Things have been looking up for the Clarets after losing the first five games of the season. Since then, a cup defeat apart, we've won one and drawn one with no fewer than eight goals scored. There's no doubt if we could get the injured players back we would be a much tougher proposition.

The squad has been reduced by one since we last played. Recently goalkeeper Jack Baker left the club after failing to settle and now Republic of Ireland midfielder Joe O'Neill has also returned home. Best wishes to him.
