Youth team travel to Blackpool

Christian Hill opened the scoring in the 2-0 home win

That 3-1 defeat, in which Josh Dolling scored a late consolation for us, followed six consecutive league victories that had seen us get very close to the top of the league, but a defeat at home to Bury last week has left us needing a win to get back alongside the title challengers.

Blackpool too were beaten last week by rivals Preston and coach Richie Kyle wants his players to bounce back and get another win against us. "I expect it will be another tough game, but the lads are looking forward to it," he said.

"We played them very recently and I thought we played very well that day, we gave them the respect they deserved and ran out deserving winners in the end. It's an advantage to have played them so recently because we'll be familiar with all their players, but on the flip side they'll know a lot about us so that cancels each other out in a way."

We've already played Blackpool this season in the league. It was our first game of the season and we won it 2-0 at Padiham with goals from Christian Hill and Ntumba Massanka. In last year's game at Blackpool we were beaten 1-0 way as they did the double over us.

The game will be played at their Squires Gate training ground with an 11 a.m. kick off.
