Youth team in Gawthorpe action today

It is the only home action for the youth team ahead of the new season with all the other games being played away from Burnley prior to the lads going out to Portugal in early August for the tournament that the Clarets Mad Youth Foundation have helped to fund.

The second years have three games, all against academy teams. Today's against Barnsley is followed by away games against Bolton and Everton.

The first years are playing in a tournament tomorrow against Manchester United and also have a game arranged at Stockport.

Then, on the first weekend in August, they will all travel to Portugal for the City of Coimbra Youth Tournament before returning home for the start of the Youth Alliance League on Saturday 21^st August.

The fixtures are not yet available for the league, but the Youth Alliance Cup draw has been made and we will play Chesterfield at Gawthorpe on Saturday 2^nd October.

Today's game kicks off at 12 noon.
