Youth team climb the table

Alex McDonald - two goals in latest win
Injuries aplenty caused a lot of problems in the early months of the season and this was reflected in the fact that we lost nine of our first twelve league games, and only the presence of an Accrington side still to win a point, kept us off the bottom.

Things have looked up since, and the form has been good with only the blip following two cup defeats spoiling the current run. Yesterday's victory over Rochdale was by the same 4-1 scoreline that saw us record our first win of the season back in October.

Alex McDonald scored in that win and scored twice yesterday, with Jay Rodriguez also netting. The other Burnley goal was an own goal, and the win took us three points clear of 'Dale and also level on points with Blackpool, although both of them do have games in hand.

There really has been a change in fortune with this win taking us to five wins from the last eight games, whilst at the same time giving further experience to players such as Chris Anderson, Alex-Ray Harvey, Ben Hoskin and Chris Lynch, all of whom are expected to join the club as apprentices from next season.
