Rob Turner - put the Clarets in front
The Clarets had beaten both Franchise and Luton Town at Padiham to get this far and were hopeful of progressing against a Swindon side that had beaten Yeovil comprehensively in the last round.

As many eyes remained on the last few hours of transfer dealing it was Burnley who got their noses in front just before the half hour with a goal from striker and first year apprentice Rob Turner.

We held that lead until half time and beyond. There was over an hour gone when the home side equalised but in a short spell they scored three times to secure a place in the quarter final against either Newcastle or Millwall.

Well done to Swindon, and best of luck in the next round. To the lads who represented our club tonight, well done to you too, you've taken this club as far as we've gone in this competition in over a quarter of a century. Hold your heads up and be very proud of that.

The Burnley team was: Jonathan Sergeant, Dean Stott, Tom Blackler, Jack Overson, Tom Bradley, Ali Akbar, Connor Smith, Adam Kay, Jay Rodriguez, Alex McDonald, Rob Turner.
