Youth team beaten at Carlisle

It was a tough ask for our young team this morning against a Carlisle side currently top of the league and with three wins and a draw from their first four games.

It got even tougher when Carlisle went 1-0 up in 11 minutes with a goal from Alex Salmon but we were equalised when Brad Jackson scored his first goal at this level, the under-16 player getting in to fire home, with a shot that flew into the top corner, after a Jason Gilchrist shot had been saved.

It was all square at half time but Carlisle stepped things up in the second half and got their winner with 20 minutes to go through Kyle Dempsey.

The Burnley team was: Callum Jakovlevs, Waqas Azam (Andrew Nugent 78), Charlie Holt (Andreas Bianga 78), Jack Errington, Alex Whitmore, Luke Daly, Nathan Lowe, Ntumba Massanka (Khius Metz 78), Brad Jackson, Jason Gilchrist, Jamie Frost.
