Youth Alliance to get underway again

Because of the Christmas break and the recent poor weather no games have been played since Macclesfield and Wigan took a point each from a 0-0 draw on 15th December.

Burnley's last game came three days earlier when we won 2-0 at Carlisle with goals from Joe McKee and Michael King, a result that took our run of wins to seven in league and cup.

That run came to an end when we were beaten by Manchester United in the FA Youth Cup last week but the lads will be hoping to make it seven out of seven in the league when we travel to Blackpool this Saturday.

Blackpool are currently third from bottom and have won just twice in the Alliance this season. Recently they had a shock victory over leaders Preston and their other win was early in the season when they beat the young Clarets 4-3 at Gawthorpe on a day when we got it very wrong defensively.

This is a much better looking Burnley side now at the back and we will be favourites to gain revenge for that defeat.
