Youth Alliance League to kick off

Last updated : 12 August 2013 By Tony Scholes

The League One club's youth team flew out to Amsterdam on 29th July, along with the youth squads of Chesterfield and Middlesbrough. They are all based with Eredivisie clubs, with Chesterfield and Middlesbrough at NEC Nijmegen and NAC Breda respectively, and Tranmere being hosted by VVV-Venlo.

It's been organised by League Football Education and has been fully sponsored by the Leonardo Da Vinci fund for Life Long Learning.

The Tranmere squad will be returning on Saturday with our game against them having now been moved back to a 2 p.m. kick off on Wednesday 28th August at Gawthorpe.

By then we will have played two away games. Our season kicks off at Oldham a week on Saturday and a week later we travel to Walsall.

There are 17 clubs in the league this season with the return of Wigan, who spent last season at the EPPP Category 2 level.

There are seven games this Saturday to kick off the season with Fleetwood, who kick off a week later, the other team not involved.
