Left back Luke Conlan

Last season we reached the final of the competition having beaten Accrington and Blackpool, but lost out to Preston in the final, going down 1-0 at Deepdale at the beginning of May.

Today's opponents Rochdale have made a good start to the season and haven't been beaten since losing to Shrewsbury in their opening game.

They've also scored some goals, hitting four against both Port Vale and Tranmere, six against Accrington and seven against Bury.

It's two in form teams but Burnley will go into the game without both Luke Gallagher and Cameron Howieson. Both played in the win against Preston on Saturday but both will sit this one out.

It's still a strong team including second year scholars Like Conlan and Jason Gilchrist whilst we can welcome back both Conor Mitchell and Cameron Dummigan who have been away on Northern Ireland Under 17 duty.

Burnley will select from Conor Mitchell, Callum Jakovlevs, Cameron Dummigan, Charlie Holt, Luke Conlan, Christian Hill, Luke Daly, Kevin Ly, Evan Galvin, Nathan Lowe, Lewis Nuttall, Jason Gilchrist, Brad Jackson, Jamie Frost, Andreas Bianga, Waqas Azam.

Kick off at Gawthorpe is 2:00 p.m.
