Wrexham go second as leaders Carlisle get back to winning

Carlisle lost the week before against Port Vale. They were disappointed after having spoken about going through the season unbeaten, but they got the defeat out of the system and beat Blackpool easily.

It was the second biggest win of the day behind our 5-0 victory over Morecambe with the Clarets benefiting strongly from the return of Luke Gallagher as well as first appearances of the season from both Luke Conlan and Cameron Howieson.

That result has moved us up to tenth in the table and with a home game to come this week against Accrington who are currently three places and two points behind us.

Oldham and Shrewsbury were the other winners and the other game between two of last season's top three, Preston and Walsall, ended in a 3-3 draw at Preston's Springfields training ground.

Carlisle travel to Bury this week. The Shakers started well but were beaten heavily at Rochdale a week last Saturday and had no game this week. That's seen them drop to sixth but it is very tight still with only two points separating the five teams directly behind the leaders.
