Without a game, we could only watch as the top two both won again. Carlisle were 3-0 winners at Walsall whilst Wrexham were able to beat Oldham at home 1-0. Those results have kept Wrexham two points clear at the top of the league ahead of Carlisle with us now a further seven points behind albeit with a number of games in hand.

Port Vale were the biggest winners of the day. They hit six for the second successive Saturday, this time a 6-1 win against Accrington. Vale benefit from a young lad with the abilities of Rory Delap and in the previous week scored three times in the first ten minutes of the game from throw ins.

Preston's decent run came to an end with a 3-0 reverse at Chester and there were also wins for Macclesfield and Shrewsbury with the other two games drawn.

There is a full fixture list this coming Saturday, and we play at home to Tranmere

We also have a game this coming Wednesday evening against Bury in the Lancashire FA Youth Cup. That game will be played at Radcliffe Borough and kicks off at 7:00 p.m.
