Wigan closing in

Having previously only suffered one defeat all season, Bury have now lost their last two games and are just one point clear now at the top after Wigan hit five past Macclesfield to continue their climb up the table.

Wrexham missed the chance to go third, had they beaten local rivals Chester it would have seen them leapfrog both Blackpool and Carlisle. These two sides should have met but their game was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

Bottom two clubs Rochdale and Accrington both won for the second time. Rochdale did the double over the Clarets, we remain the only side they have beaten and face them again in the Youth Alliance Cup, whilst Accrington beat Morecambe and it is now they who are at the foot of the table.

Oldham's win against Preston and Walsall's draw at Port Vale have seen both of them climb above the Clarets and we are now very much in mid table, ninth of eighteen teams with seven wins and six defeats from our thirteen games.

Because of the FA Youth Cup tie next week our scheduled home game against Oldham will require a new date. We'll next be in league action on 15th December when we travel to Carlisle.
