Weekend starts against world's oldest club

It's an appropriate day for us to be playing this fixture. Sheffield play their home matches at Dronfield but want to return to Olive Grove, their first home. Today is the day they are launching their big fundraiser to help move that project forward.

Our opponents have just returned from a tour of Germany and have one face at the club familiar to us. When the game was announced I wondered if anyone had ever played for both clubs. Paul Smith has and Andy Kiwomya, who Chris Waddle brought to Turf Moor on loan is the current manager.

It will be their seventh of nine pre-season games before they kick off their league season with a home game against Carlton United in the Evo-Stik League First Division South.

Burnley are looking to add numbers to the development squad. We fielded four trialists last week at Ashton and it is expected there could be even more tonight.

Kick off is 7:45 at the Coach & Horses Ground, Sheffield Road, Dronfield, a ground that is just six miles away from where the first team are playing tomorrow.
