Weather still on top in the Alliance

Our game at Bury was called off on the Friday, and thanks to Bury Football Club for keeping Clarets Mad informed as to the chances of it going ahead, with games at Carlisle, Morecambe, Port Vale and Walsall also suffering similarly.

That left just two games on and one of them was the Fylde Coast derby between Blackpool and Fleetwood.

As expected, league leaders Blackpool won it, and that enabled them to stretch their lead at the top of the league to seven points although Walsall, the club closest to them, do have two games in hand.

The only other game played saw Shrewsbury win at Tranmere and that meant they were able to climb two places from next to bottom into 14th place, passing both Macclesfield and Wrexham.

Macclesfield have played just 13 games and that's less than any other club. We come next having played 14, along with Bury, Tranmere, Port Vale and Wrexham. Wigan, with 19 games, have still played at least two more than anyone else.

Whilst a new date has to be found for our game against Bury, all the other recently postponed games have now been re-scheduled.

Check the FIXTURE LIST for a comprehensive check of our remaining fixtures.

Our next attempt at kicking off 2014 will come this Saturday with a trip to Fleetwood. Hopefully the weather will allow that, and all the other games this weekend, to go ahead.
