The match referee called the game off on Saturday morning with some of the youth team pitch waterlogged following the heavy rain overnight and that meant a late postponement.
The only team able to take advantage and go above us were Tranmere and they did with a home win against lowly Accrington. It has taken them level with points on Bury and a point ahead of us.
The top three are now all four points clear after good results. Rochdale drew one of their games in hand in midweek to draw level with Wigan and Walsall, and Saturday saw all three record victories.
Wigan maintain league leadership after beating Port Vale, Rochdale, still with one game in hand, are second following a win against Oldham and Walsall are right behind them having beaten Fleetwood.
For Oldham, one of those three teams beaten, it has been a major turn round recently. They won seven of their first eight games and looked a real threat for the title. But Tony Philliskirk's team have now lost each of their last five games.
Preston are now closest to us in the table, of those below us. They beat bottom club Morecambe 6-0 and that means Morecambe have now conceded a half century of goals in just 16 games. They remain two points behind Accrington but then there is a further five point jump to Shrewsbury who are now third from bottom after they at Blackpool and were passed by Carlisle, winners over Wrexham.
