Weather hits the Youth Alliance

The game between the two holiday resorts, played at Blackpool's Squires Gate training ground, ended in a surprise draw. Blackpool were expected to run out easy winners but in a goal feast both sides had to settle for a point from a high scoring 4-4 draw.

With second place Walsall's game at Burnley called off it meant Blackpool were able to extend their lead at the top to two points whilst at the other end of the league the draw enabled Morecambe to move off the bottom on goal difference.

Shrewsbury are bottom now and like Morecambe have only won twice all season. They were beaten again at home against Port Vale with the points allowing Vale to move up one place above Tranmere.

In the other game played Rochdale beat Bury 1-0. Bury have lost their way recently after leading the table for a while but this must be a result that has delighted the Burnley team. Rochdale had only previously won two games all season, both of them against us. At least someone else has lost to them now.

We are next back in action, hopefully if the weather relents, a week on Saturday when we face Port Vale at Gawthorpe.
