That win against Carlisle ensured the top three further away from the Cumbrians although with three games in hand they could still make a real push for the top of the league. Macclesfield though continue to be the ones to watch and they hit four against lowly Rochdale to say in third place.
Tranmere also hit four on Saturday and they are one of four teams in the middle of the league with 34 points along with the Clarets, Wrexham and Oldham. We currently sit above all of them on goal difference having been boosted by our two wins on Saturday and Monday.
We're at home again this coming weekend against one of those clubs Oldham and matches between us over the past few years have often been explosive affairs with goals aplenty although that wasn't the case earlier in the season when they beat us 1-0 at Oldham.
Burnley are also in action next Monday in the semi-final of the Lancashire FA Youth Cup against Wigan. This game kicks off at 2:00 p.m. and will be played at Wigan's training ground.
