With all but two of the games played in the Round of 32, the full draw for the next round was only confirmed today with Birmingham, one of the winners, withdrawing their team from the competition allowing a return for Newcastle.
Birmingham won their tie 2-1 with both goals scored by Aaron Mclean who is currently on loan from Hull. The problem was that Mclean had already played in the competition for his parent club in Qualifying Round 2 so Birmingham have withdrawn to protect the integrity of the competition.
The Round of 16 games should be played in week commencing 16th December but ours, and I'm sure others, will be played on that following Monday with a place in the last eight at stake.
Admission charges are still to be announced although it is expected to be £3 Adults and £1 concessions.
