Two defeats this week

I thought the dark ages of non-communication were behind us, it is not too many years since we went out of the Lancashire Youth Cup without the club ever revealing that we had played, but it is not the case and on Monday we were beaten 2-1 by Rochdale in the newly resurrected Lancashire Senior Cup.

It was played behind closed doors but the club have even gone as far as not even reporting on it or giving out the result which we have no information as to the Burnley scorer or in fact who played.

However, Rochdale were not quite so shy about it, and their scorers were Ashley Proberts and Leighton McGivern. Dale will not play either Bolton or Preston in the next round.

Today we played our third Pontin's League game of the season and fell to a 1-0 defeat against Chester City at the Saunders Honda Stadium.

The Burnley team was:

Michael Hale, Joel Pilkington, Ryan Townsend, Neal Trotman, Paul Scott, Mark Yates, Darrell Avery, Matt O'Neill, Cayne Hanley, Alex Taylor, Kyle Lafferty. Subs: Mark Crossley, Chris McCann, Martin Reilly, Joe Booth, Marc Pugh.
