Turner goal earns point

Rob Turner - scored the equaliser
We didn't get off to the best of starts and Bury quickly had two chances, both coming from opportunities down their right wing. Both times the wide man cut in to shoot, his first was saved well by Brian Jensen and then he shot wide from the second.

Little was seen of the Clarets in the opening exchanges and it was no surprise when Bury took the lead. However it is a goal Jensen won't be too happy with. It was struck well enough but I'm not sure anyone could believe it when it went through him and into the bottom corner.

We retaliated with an effort from Alan Mahon that flew wide, but generally we struggled during the first half to put anything together and the visiting keeper had very little to do in front of the now covered end of the ground.

The Bury forwards were giving us some problems. First teamer Andy Bishop was leading the line along with youngster Domaine Rouse, who we were reliably informed is being watched by a number of top clubs. He certainly impressed tonight alongside Bishop during the first half.

Jensen redeemed himself with two good saves but we still trailed at half time with the Bury goalkeeper having had very little to do.

There was little change at the start of the second half, and Jensen was again called upon to make saves and one of them was a good one as he clawed the ball away at the expense of a corner.

Little had been seen of us as an attacking force but when we finally got a shot on target it brought us back level. Jay Rodriguez found Joey Gudjonsson who threaded through a delightful for Rob Turner. He took the ball, turned and fired home from just inside the box.

The Clarets had the better of things after this and we started to dominate the midfield with both Gudjonsson and James O'Connor beginning to impress. And we could have won it, but this time the Bury keeper saved well to deny Turner his second goal.

Next week we have an away game at our home ground, when we take on Accrington in what is their home game. The difference is that we will have to pay to go on.
