Outstanding performance from Aryn Williams

The Clarets had to come from behind to win too. We fell behind in the first half but Joe Jackson, who is now back at Turf Moor after spending the first half of the season on loan at Barrow, equalised ten minutes before half time, hitting a shot in off the post following good work from schoolboy Brad Jackson and trialist Jordan Kirkpatrick, a 20-year-old midfielder who left Hamilton Academical in December.

It was Kirkpatrick himself who gave us the lead in the second half with a shot into the top corner and regular youth team scorer Jason Gilchrist completed the scoring with two late goals.

Manager Sean Dyche was there to watch the game and it was a performance that pleased coach Simon Weatherstone. He said: "It was a battle to begin with against a physical team in testing conditions, but once the boys got their passing game going the ability shone through.

"It was a great test for the squad. Aryn Williams, in particular, was outstanding and Tom Anderson was solid at the back, but I 'm delighted with the attitude of all the lads."

The team was: Jon Stewart, Aryn Williams (Cameron Dummigan 87), Tom Anderson, Alex Coleman, Luke Conlan, Brad Jackson (Nathan Lowe 70), Jordan Kirkpatrick, Trialist 2 (Luke Daly 70), Cameron Howieson, Jason Gilchrist, Joe Jackson. Subs not used: Callum Jakovlevs, Callum Richardson, Alex Whitmore, Wilson.
