Preston were involved in their local derby against Blackpool who , alongside Accrington had conceded the most goals this season. Blackpool are now out on their own having conceded another five in this game with the points keeping North End four points clear at the top.
Rochdale remain second having beaten Shrewsbury on the Friday and Walsall have now moved into third place. They were below us at the start of play but have now advanced three places with a win against Port Vale.
Apart from us, it also took them above Wrexham, who drew with Macclesfield, and Carlisle, who were without a game.
In the only other game over the weekend, Fleetwood won at Morecambe, that taking Fleetwood within one point of their local rivals Blackpool in the table.
Now sixth, we play twice this week. On Wednesday we face Accrington at Gawthorpe and on Saturday we host Bury although it is Bury's home game. A win against Accrington on Wednesday would lift us into third place in the table.
There's only one other game at the weekend, that between Rochdale and Oldham. Our lads will have their feet right back on the ground after Friday, Terry Pashley and Andy Farrell will see to that. Hopefully we'll be able to get a couple of good results this week to push ourselves closer to the top of the table.
