Top two lose in Alliance

Last updated : 18 September 2012 By Tony Scholes

Carlisle were beaten 1-0 at home by Port Vale who, with those three points, have now gone into second place above Bury who suffered a 7-0 hammering at the hands of Rochdale.

They were just two of four games played this week with both Preston and Oldham recording wins.

The Clarets had no game in the league and beat Fleetwood in a friendly arranged at the 11th hour, but we're back in action this coming Saturday with a trip up to Morecambe to face one of the two sides currently below us in the table.

The results from the last two weeks are below along with the weekend fixtures and Burnley's goalscorers this season.
