Top two level at the top of the Alliance

Nathan Lowe, two goals in the win against Accrington

Wrexham's win has taken them level with North End at the top with the two sides now separated only by goal difference and right now Preston's is one better than Wrexham's.

The pair of them sit four points clear of Walsall who have a game in hand and Rochdale are currently in fourth place a further two points behind and it's very unlikely that anyone else will challenge now for the title.

Bury moved above us into fifth place last Saturday but we reclaimed it yesterday with the win against Accrington. It would be a massive achievement for us to challenge with just six games remaining although we still have all of the four teams above us to play in those six games.

The first of those comes in two days time when leaders Preston are the visitors to Gawthorpe. Wrexham will be hoping for a favour while they look to win at Port Vale.

Besides those wins for Wrexham and Bury last Saturday, and Preston's draw,  there were three other games. Walsall recorded a win against Fleetwood and the other two both ended in draws, one of which saw bottom club Tranmere pick up another point. After a disastrous season they have now lost just once in their five games.

Yesterday was our last scheduled midweek game. We play on each of the next six Saturdays with the last game coming at Wrexham on 13th April.
