Top two grab Alliance wins

First goal of the season for Khius Metz

Whilst top of the league Walsall were winning 1-0 at bottom of the league Morecambe, Rochdale remained one point behind them with a 3-1 win against us in a game that saw Khius Metz score his first goal of the season.

Those wins took them three and two points clear of third place Preston who surprisingly were held to a draw by a Carlisle side who have not had the best of starts to the new season.

That's enabled Tranmere, who beat Wrexham, Blackpool, winners over Fleetwood, and Bury, who came out on top against Fleetwood to all get within one point of North End whilst three point further behind are Oldham who have two games in hand. They beat Wigan.

Other than leaders Walsall, Tranmere now remain the only other unbeaten side following our defeat and at the other end of the table the bottom two are both still to win. With Morecambe losing against Walsall it gave Accrington a chance to pull away from them but they went down to defeat at Shrewsbury.

Things could change up at the top this weekend with the top two facing each other. Rochdale will be the home side with the game, as it was against us two days ago, being played at Radcliff Borough's Stainton Park.

It's a full fixture list and we host Wigan at Nelson. They are currently two places behind us with one point less but have played one game more than us.

All the weekend results are below with this week's fixtures, Burnley's goalscorers this season and the current league table.
