Tomorrow's youth game called off

Terry Pashley had intended resting some of the players that saw Burnley into the quarter finals of the FA Youth Cup for the first time since 1978, but, hardly surprisingly, the game has been called off due to a frozen pitch.

One player definitely out would have been midfielder Archie Love. He suffered a hand injury in Wednesday's win and was taken to hospital on his return where he was admitted with him requiring surgery.

Coach Terry Pashley said: "Obviously getting his hand right is the most important thing, but I will be speaking to Ally (Beattie) the physio and hoping that with a little cast to protect it Archie can still get out and train and play.

"We will know better about that in a couple of days."

Burnley's next game will be at home to Morecambe in a week's time.
