Three late goals give Clarets a draw at Carlisle

Cameron Howieson was involved in all four goals

Having missed an early chance, things soon went wrong for Burnley with Carlisle's giant striker Mark Beck scoring twice to give the home side a 2-0 lead.

We pulled one back through Cameron Howieson just over ten minutes before half time when he scored from a free kick on the edge of the box.

But it was Carlisle who went into the interval in front and things soon went worse for us as they added two more goals to lead 4-1.

When we reached the 85th minute and still trailed by three goals, a defeat looked inevitable, but then three goals in three minutes turned the game on its head.

Howieson started it with his second, scoring his second of the game from the penalty spot, and within two minutes, substitute Ntumba Massanka had bagged a pair to complete the scoring, both times getting onto balls played to him by Howieson who ended the game with two goals and two assists.

Carlisle included Beck, Patrick Brough, Josh Gillies, Billy Paynter, Dave Symington and Paul Thirwell from their first team squad.

The Burnley team was: Danijel Nizic, Luke Daly, Waqas Azam, Alex Whitmore, Luke Conlan, Steven Hewitt, Nathan Lowe (Kevin Ly 65), Cameron Howieson, Trialist (Ntumba Massanka 65), Jamie Frost (Evan Galvin ht), Jason Gilchrist. Sub not used: Conor Mitchell.
