For poor Blackpool, they followed up that defeat with another reverse yesterday when they were beaten by bottom club Accrington who are now just the one point behind Morecambe.
Walsall moved back into third place with a win over Carlisle, again taking advantage of a side not playing, in this case it was Rochdale who move to fourth after their game at Macclesfield was called off.
The only other team above Burnley now are Stockport, and we beat them 4-1 on Saturday. This is a Stockport side who reached the Northern Final of the Youth Alliance Cup last week with a 4-1 win themselves over Preston.
The turnaround from Burnley has been remarkable. After winning just seven points from the first eight games, an early run that saw us down at the bottom of the league, we've since, in a further 11 games won a further 26 points.
Bury and Wrexham were the other winners on Saturday. Both of them are in mid-table, in the group that sit just a few points behind the Clarets.
We've got two home games this week. Tomorrow we entertain fourth place Rochdale (kick off 2:00 p.m.) and on Saturday morning we face Tranmere Rovers. Kick off for the second game is at 11:00 a.m.
