Seasiders jump to the top

Jay Rodriguez - scored the winner for the youth team
Blackpool run out 3-1 winners but Preston were not happy with the referee who sent off Ashley Parillon and they described it as a disgraceful decision. What goes around comes around Preston.

It was enough to see Blackpool go top ahead of Tranmere and Wrexham on goal difference, with the Clarets just behind them on goal difference.

Over to the youth team and despite a second successive win to maintain our 100% start we still don’t find ourselves top of the league. Jay Rodriguez scored our winner against Rochdale but it was nowhere near enough to keep tabs on Oldham.

We are third on goal difference, Tranmere are directly below us, but the Latics are out there on top having scored no less than fifteen goals in their first two games. Having won 4-1 at Macclesfield in the opening game they went somewhat better with a massive 11-0 win over Shrewsbury last Saturday.

They had no fewer than seven goal scorers in the win with Chris Taylor leading the way with three of them.

This week’s results are:

Pontin’s Holiday League (Reserves)

Blackpool 3 Preston 1
