Two outstanding Youth Alliance Cup ties had been played during the week with Morecambe and Blackpool both going out against Chesterfield and Shrewsbury, but the league games at Wrexham, who were due to play Carlisle last Friday, and Burnley, where we should have played Accrington, were both called off because of waterlogged pitches.
The one remaining game went ahead with Rochdale winning 1-0 at Macclesfield and those points have now lifted them into second place, still four points behind leaders Preston but with a game in hand.
It's the cup again this week which means no game for the Clarets. We went out to Walsall in the first round and we won't be in action again until the FA Youth Cup tie against Manchester United at Old Trafford a week on Friday.
