That ended any hopes Shrewsbury had of closing the three point gap between themselves and leaders Preston, a gap that doubled when Preston travelled to Port Vale and won comfortably.
Fourth place Stockport maintained their position with a win over bottom club Accrington whilst Burnley, still sixth, beat fifth place Walsall away, with Joe Jackson hitting a hat trick as we reported on Saturday.
The two clubs right behind us, Oldham and Wigan, both won. There was also a win for Carlisle at Wrexham whilst Blackpool and Tranmere drew on Friday.
Our next game is tomorrow afternoon at Gawthorpe when we entertain league leaders Preston, a side that have already had two narrow victories against us this season. Saturday sees us without a game.
