Rochdale go above Clarets

This was a week with no scheduled fixtures but four clubs took advantage of that last Saturday to get in re-arranged games.

In the first of those games it certainly brought about a significant move in the table for home side Blackpool. Losing for the tenth time in thirteen games, they had kicked off above Accrington Stanley on goals scored, but the 3-1 defeat to Rochdale has now firmly planted them on the bottom of the league with only one win, against us, all season.

The three points took Rochdale up three places in the table to seventh, and that meant a drop of one place for the Clarets to ninth.

In the only other game played Stockport picked up all three points against Port Vale and that enabled them to move back up to fourth in the table, just five points behind leaders Preston.

Preston remain three points clear at the top and they certainly had a good day on Saturday when they pulled off the result of the round against Manchester City, beating them 2-1 to go through to the last 32 of the competition.

We're back in action, with the rest of the league, this weekend with a home game against Bury who sit three places and four points above us in the table.
