Reserves to stay at Accrington

There have been strong suggestions recently that we've been looking for alternatives to Accrington's Crown Ground for our reserve games, but unfortunately we are back there again next season although, as has been the case this season, some games will be moved to Turf Moor.

Manager Brian Laws said: "Because of the finances that we have put forward this summer for the main pitch, that should enable us to have more games on that.

"It's harder wearing and therefore it will give us an opportunity to play a number of our reserve games at home, which should benefit everybody."

Laws, it is believed, was keen to see us move away from Accrington altogether following the last season when they were able to stage just one of our home games before April.

However, stadium manager Doug Metcalfe is more than happy to continue the agreement with the League Two club. he said: "We have a good relationship with Accrington which we have built over a number of years and it's important we retain that.

"We will still be using Accrington as our main reserve area but having invested in the latest technology surface at our own stadium we are potentially in a position to hold more games here, such as for the reserve team when necessary."
