The game was played on an excellent pitch adjacent to the City of Manchester Stadium. With Alex MacDonald and Jay Rodriguez on first team duty we had Adam Kay and the youth team squad to select from.

Burnley took the lead when Michael King swung over a corner which was flicked on at the near post for Dominic Knowles to sweep the ball home. Manchester City equalised for a 1 - 1 half time scoreline.

Burnley took the lead with the goal of the game. Started by Dil Chaggar playing at right back he fed Michael King, who beat his man, and played the ball to the feet of Dom Knowles. He laid the ball back to Chris Anderson who split the City defence for Wes Fletcher to score. A classic Burnley footballing goal.

City scored two quick goals with 20 minutes to go and try as they might the young Burnley side could not find an equaliser.
