Reserves opener called off

Eppleton Colliery Welfare Ground - venue for our next reserve game

The reason given is that it is due to international commitments at both clubs. However, there have been some concerns re: this game and those concerns could well have been heightened following the Carling Cup tie this week between West Ham and Millwall.

Plans were being put in place by the clubs and maybe this is part of the reason, certainly given that we were more than happy to play a reserve game this week when we had no members of the first team squad available to play in it.

The game should have been played next Wednesday but has now been re-arranged for Wednesday 9th December.

This means our next game in the reserve league will be on Tuesday 15th September against Sunderland. The game will be played at Eppleton Colliery Welfare Ground, home of Hetton Town.

The first home game will now be on Wednesday 30th September when we play host to Hull City.
