Jay Rodriguez - two goals
John Achteburg deflected in a shot from Remco van der Schaaf which gave us the lead in the first half and Jay scored with a header from an Alan Mahon cross to make it 2-0.

It all looked over when Jay scored from the spot after Achteburg conceded the spot kick but then Tranmere came back. Within a minute Chris Gornell had pulled one back and three minutes after that it was 3-2 with Gornell again the scorer, this from a penalty.

Tranmere won themselves a second penalty five minutes from time and Gornell completed his hat trick to give the home side an unlikely point.

The teams were;

Tranmere: John Achteburg, Danny Holmes, Luke Waterfall, Joel Richardson, Aaron Cresswell, Adnan Ahmed, Ash Taylor, Charlie Barnett, Dave Wilson, Terry Gornell, Josh Macauley. Subs: Peter Kennedy, Louis Corrigan, Gerwyn Jones, Luke Denson, Ryan Fraughan.

Burnley: Diego Penny, Ben Hoskin, Nik Kudiersky, Chris Lynch, Owen Coyle, Alex MacDonald, Remco van der Schaaf, Adam Kay, Alan Mahon, Steve Jones, Jay Rodriguez. Subs: Gabor Kiraly, Chris Anderson, Dominic Knowles, Michael King, Dil Chaggar.
