Wes Fletcher - scored our goal from the penalty spot
It was our second visit to Morecambe in just a few weeks after we elected to play our home game against them at Christie Park, believed to be the furthest away from Burnley we have ever played a home game.

That one ended in a 2-2 draw with Wes Fletcher getting both goals, and it was Wes on the mark again tonight netting from the penalty spot to take us into half time with a 1-0 lead.

Unfortunately Morecambe came back in the second half to score twice through leading scorer Aaron Taylor leaving us with a second defeat, the other being five weeks ago when we were beaten by second in the league Manchester City.

The reserves are back home again tomorrow evening when we play our home game against Accrington at Accrington. Kick off is 7:00 p.m.

The teams tonight were;

Morecambe: Edge, M Bell, Grundy, Winter, McStay, Parrish, Poole, Richards, Taylor, Farrelly, Clarke. Subs: Bee, D Bell, Wright, Docherty, Barnes.

Burnley: Stef Ritchie, Ed Williams, Nik Kudiersky, Chris Lynch, Jake McEneaney, Dil Chaggar (Dean Overson), Chris Anderson, Oliver Devenney, Michael King (Ross Wilson), Dom Knowles, Wes Fletcher (Thomas Taylor). Subs not used: Danny McDonald, Liam Newman.
