Both of them ended in resounding home wins. Carlisle had to come from behind against Wrexham to take all three points at Brunton Park. They did lead 1-0 but were 2-1 down at the interval. However, they got on top in the second half and ended the game 5-3 winners.

Kevin Gall grabbed a hat trick for the Cumbrians with Danny Carlton and Shaun Vipond getting the others. Mike Carville, Jamie Read and Andy Fleming scored the goals for Wrexham.

In the only other game played bottom of the league Rochdale were comprehensive winners against Tranmere. Two goals from Ben Wharton and one from trialist Martin Donnelly ensured 'Dale moved within three points of Wrexham down at the bottom of the league.

Tranmere should have been hosting the Clarets next week, but that's now been re-arranged for 30th April.

The Clarets will next be in action in two weeks time when we play Rochdale at Accrington. This will be our first game since the 3-2 home defeat against Manchester City a week before Christmas.
